Aged almost the
year Walking and she does the talking. |

You know the old adage about spending an age teaching them to walk and talk, only to
shout shut up and sit down continuously for the rest of their childhood.
The boy is mobile.
He goes at speed and his new trick of pushing the laundry basket
around to get from place to place can be a tad daunting to watch.
Fiona is lecturing away and of course working also in the uni. Standing in the rain, wind and sleet is the highlight of the day using public transport to get into Cork. That will teach her to be Eco friendly. For the kids, colds give way to coughs which in turn give way to the flu's. Our crunchy / encrusted furniture, clothing or anything that is in nose level of the boy have taken on the most vivid of colours. Such a delight to see what colour the curtains are at the end of a weekend where the kids have been hiding from each other. They are pretty much settled and sleep for them means a little for us also. I don't have to start an interview anymore with 'Really I am not a crack addict', so my chances of employment can only increase. The girls new phrases like 'Oisín, leave Aoife in peace' are being used a little more with his new found mobility. Aoife has taken to moving herself and her belongings to a higher level. Not spiritually, but to the couch and surrounding said couch with cushions as a form of moat. The boys new game 'cushion diving' of course does being him nearer to her and it is a matter of time before he will be up there with her. The girls ingenuity will of course come up with plan B, but I have a feeling that plans C,D,E etc. will have to be thought up with more and more urgency as he is catching up so quickly. Oisín has also picked up a trait or two from his parents. In 'school' a few days ago, the boy orchestrated a break-in to the kitchen area. With the help of two of the other 'boys' the moved the barrier that block them from crawling in, then proceed to open every cupboard and pull out everything therein. Presumably this was as some sort of protest, Viva le revolution! So starting early. The kids links page has more info on life for the lads. |
