Month 06 / 24
Latest on the Lassie, the Lad and of course our good selves too!
A nights sleep, only one, but a nights sleep all the same. The missus had eight straight hours, her best night by two hours in the last 6 months. Absolutely no idea what to do with all this extra energy. Midday already and I have not walked into even one wall. Hurray!

The boy has started driving. I am sure, that in years to come, he will be on a leather couch somewhere, paying far too much money to someone, explaining that all is problems are down to that pink car. I am hoping that he is more into cars than the lass. 20 seconds into the first lap of the Hungarian GP over the weekend, the lass decides that it was time for the nightly Gecko hunt, so Da missed quite a bit of excitement. Its not like its the only sport I follow and it happens only once every 2 weeks.

Every evening we take our torches out to the garden and look for spiders, geckos, tukeis, bats hanging from the large palms eating fruit and rats eating nectar from the coconut trees. If there is no bat around then Aoife reckons they are gone to the shop for more fruit. This nightly activity compared to cars flying around a circuit, and there seems to be no competition (which ironically is kinda like formula 1 these days)

In the last few days the boy has slept for a massive 11 hours. He didn't wake, just stired a little every time herself moved his head to put a mirrior under his nose "just to check". So all happy in the Kelly household. Aoife Wose Kelly, as she calls herself will be 2 years of age on the 9th September. That of course is 2 going on 22. In the morning she mentions thing like 'daddy shirt' before she will allow me to pick her up. Of course when she grabs me by the face, tut tuts and with a shake of her head says 'daddy fluffy'. Then sits back down in the cot, waiting for me to go and shave before I can pick her up. She is still there needless to say.

I was away last week for a few days in Bangkok all on my lonesome and away from the clan. The welcome break of getting a peaceful nights sleep as I envisaged did not really materialise. Those kids (and their mother) worked their evil voodoo from afar. This made me realise that they are actually starting to grow on me.

I missed them! Back again to clan of course now and into the more serious side of life, like teaching Aoife that tin foil hats are not effective a way to stop allowing Aliens from reading her thoughts as a well placed nappy.

Art work and all the different mediums are being studied quite intensely by herself. A master of Chalk, poster paints and crayons, I believe that a chain saw a a block of ice is the next natural step. It will be good training for Cork in Winter of course.
The boys has started to move, so nothing is safe. Anything of Aoifes is fair game, I believe that 'trouble at mill' is only a matter of minutes away.

A few more weeks and we shall be in Koh Samui on our last holiday for at least 20 years! After we get back it is only 7 more weeks till the Emerald Isle beckons, then Christmas and shur the next millennium is not really that far off! The kids links page has more info on life for the lads.
