Month 05 / 23 Fiona is back to Work |

She runs into a room, throws the arms up into the air and anounces her arrival with 'Ta Daaaa'.
Aoife has entered the building.
The wee lass is getting more vocal and the boy is compensating by trying his very best to compete.
The house had not been quite, per say for some time, but now its past the sublime.
Oisín wakes in the morning (actually pre-morning) with squeals, shouts, giggle and gurgles.
A bit like Chewbaka really. He is far, far too happy.
I'm thinking of showing him the 'Omen' tonight before he goes to bed... see if he wakes up giggling after that.
He still wakes at 3 for a feed (mind you that is starting to move forward a bit at last!) and then is AWAKE before the sun comes
up. Sometimes we get him back to sleep before 6, just in time for Aoife to do her 'Ta Daaaa' routine again.
Part of the routine in the evenings is getting out for an hour to the park to try and tire the wee monsters out a little.
The house had started to settle down, when time ran out on Fiona's maternity leave. The good people at DCA get her back. Hurray for DCA. Alas, at our loss, but someone has to work to keep the kids and I in the life we have become accustomed to. Aoife had been to 'summer school', a four week period in a nursery for a few hours in the morning. Like her father, Aoife is quite shy, so this was an effort to help her over that phase in her wee life. It seems to have bear fruit. Apart from bringing home every disease for the house to get from the delightful snotty tots in school, it was a big sucess. So Mother away and Aoife back home. We made a decision (as my own work load has grown exponentially), to get a helper for the nanny. Changes in the house again for Aoife and this time, our very adaptable lady decided that this was enough! Sleep time for the lass became a huge battle. The boy had a reaction to immunisation and a few days of being an ill-at-ease bunny would be putting it midly. My busiest week upon us. Demo's, the big system, the one we have been waiting for and then a crushing blow. Our nanny sent us a text message to say she had quit! The kids learned many new words and phrases that day, which I do hope they never hear again. We are left with a part time helper. We have just started a new nanny (one that came highly recommended by a flyer in 'Comme a la maison' deli's "blah blah" wall). Its day two and all is actually going really smoothly. I suppose when you fear the worse, it can only get better. Day one was interesting tho. Instructions: Take one child (almost asleep), walk him (well you walk while carrying him, obviously) till he is asleep. Put him in the cot. What happened: Shout boys name continuously whilst screaming like a banshee and banging a tambourine type thingie. Got the maid to act as chorus with rattles and chants. I came down to the room actually in awe, totally mesmorised at the scene. The Harry Krishna's have taken over my sitting room. I took the boy away to my office, rocked him quitely for a few seconds and off he went to lah lah land. The nanny, picked up on this and each time it gets better for her. The girl learned, so I am well impressed. Aoife singing voice is great! She sings 'Twinkle twinkle, uncle Gar' and giggles to herself, does loads of action songs and has developed a fab sense of humour. At any stage she can jump out from behind a curtain after been hiding and sneaking up on her unsuspecting da to blow a raspberry on his stomach is not unheard of either. When the olympic sport of 'jump on bed' comes in, Ireland will get gold. The Energy levels that toddler have is beyond belief and of course they need constant attention. Run around the car again dear and I'll time you, only works for so long. We need a big garden when we get to Cork... more expense! She also tell Oisín about what she is doing or what happened. He stares and grins at her, they appear to be dotty about each other in the way their mum is about their Da. So all is great and so so so exhausting, the lunacy is on a downward spiral one hopes... but of course we never know what tomorrow (let alone the next 5 mins) will bring.
