Month 03 / 21
Home alone, the sequel.
She has gone away! 10,533.04 KM from us. A Handy fact to know should you ever be short of a blue 'cheese' in Trivial pursuit and you get asked how far from Beoung Keng Kang in Phnom Penh to Western Road in Cork. Remember it was me that told you! Google Earth is great! Oisín is gone too. Aoife and I are left to fend for ourselves.

How will we survive? Mum stocked the freezer and Aoife and I have done our own shopping also. So that is meat and beer. Maybe we will actually be able to go till Friday. Especially if the Nanny and maid show up every day. A few friends are coming around to check on us also. Maybe we will actually make it!

This morning was tough when I got the lass from the cot, crying.. nah sobbing, on the shoulder. I was particularly proud of Aoife when she said. "Get a hold of yourself Da, yah big baby, they are only gone a few days!" Kids do indeed say the cutest things.

It is slightly different than the last time. I put Aoife to bed before 8 pm and go and get her before 7 am. Simple. It's not like I have to deal with a 10 week old with Jet lag. The main difference is that we don't get to eat black pudding with a guinness chaser for breakfast (or any other stage during the day) for the next few mornings like others can!

They have been gone 48 hours so far and spent 36 of them travelling (Poor kids). So far we have only called them 4 times and we are now on first name basis with Patricia, the receptionist from the Hotel. "Ah Hello Niall, is it yerself again? Yes I know the room." Makes life simplier that way I suppose.

I have been explaining to Aoife that we don't need mum to bring back 4 KG's black pudding, 2 cartons of Tayto crisps and choclate buttons. We just want her and Oisín to come back safe and soon. Not once was guinness mentioned either.

The house has not gone on fire as of yet and the hospital doctor not been called as of yet. But the spots are going quite quickly. So far no foul!

Half an hour before the nanny leaves, the heart rate is starting to increase slightly. Better check to see what we are thawing tonight!
